Great thoughts of Paul LePage

Dirigo Blue - Gov. LePage is “working right now to figure out a way that we can’t barge clean water to drought states and charge them for it.”

Supertankers that carry crude can hold about 2 million barrels of oil, or about 84 million gallons. The average American household uses about 400 gallons of water a day, or 146,000 gallons a year. That means that one supertanker has the capacity to supply enough water to satisfy 575 households in parched states like California.

It’s just that there are over 12 million households there. It would take nearly 21,000 suspertanker loads to quench the thirst of the Golden State, and that’s not even considering agricultural and manufacturing uses.
