Nestle wants to grab more Maine water

WGME -- Poland Spring and its parent company, Nestle Waters are proposing to pay the Rumford Water District up to $430 000 a year to draw water from its' aquifer.

Poland Spring geologists conducted a four-month study of the aquifer this summer and say they found that there is more than enough sustainable water to supply both Rumford water customers and the company.
Rumford and the Public Utilities Commission have yet to vote on the proposal. Town residents will have a chance to weigh in.
