Down East Notes

Working Maine - One out of every 4 job openings in Maine pays under $12. Even if legislation passed raising Maine's wage gradually to $12 -- something Gov. LePage's Maine Department of Labor actually opposes -- Maine workers earning $12 an hour would still fall fall short of a living wage. For a single Maine worker, a living wage would be $15.82 an hour.
